Welcome to the Molecular Imaging Center and Cancer Functional Imaging Core at the Broadway Research Building of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Noninvasive imaging has become a powerful tool in the investigation of various disease processes. Spectacular advances in MR, PET, SPECT, ultrasound, optical imaging as well as other modalities now provide unparalleled opportunities for combined anatomic, functional and molecular imaging. The BRB Molecular Imaging Center and Cancer Functional Imaging Core provides state-of-the art small animal imaging equipment, including MRI, PET, Spect, Ultrasound, Optical imaging, X-ray and CT, to support the wide range of scientific projects within the diverse research community of the Johns Hopkins University and beyond. Trained technologists will assist investigators in the use of the facilities. The Center is managed by an Oversight Committee drawn from members of the Department of Radiology, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as other departments of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In order to be able to image with us, you will need to receive access to the BRB Animal Facility and to the BRB Molecular Imaging Center. Please start with the BRB Animal Facility training. The clearance request form can be down-loaded from our site. Please check under User Forms on the right-hand site of your screen. The BRB Animal Facility training tour starts at 9:30 am on Thursdays. Their group meets by the Turner fountain / BRB elevators' lobby. The Imaging Center orientation group meets at 2:30 pm also on Thursdays, by the Turner fountain, and it takes about 30 min. Please keep in mind that getting clearance for the use of both facilities may take a while, so please plan ahead. |
